Lymph Drainage Therapy

Lymphatic drainage therapy

Lymph drainage therapy

The major function of lymph drainage therapy is to assist the lymphatic fluid to flow freely through the body maintaining equilibrium. This action is critical for well- being, congestion can inhibit optimal health on a cellular level which can result in recurring infections. Lymph drainage therapy acts as a deep cleansing treatment: detoxifying tissues, regenerating cells and improving circulation.

Why would I choose lymph drainage therapy?

This is an excellent treatment for any stage of lymphoedema (including preventitive treatment), fluid retention during pregnancy and pre/post surgical procedures: plastic surgery, breast reconstructive surgery, liposuction, sports injuries, swelling due to trauma or an accident and recurring sinusitis. Also the soothing rhythm of this special technique has a calming effect, excellent for deep relaxation to treat insomnia, stress and loss of vitality.

How often should I have treatments?

This is a question often asked by new clients and it depends on the condition at hand and your goals. Commencing with frequent appointments and gradually reducing the frequency is a good approach to take. Each person will respond differently. Self maintenance is an important component to any treatment and a routine can be planned and shown to you during your visits. Simple to follow instructions to perform between appointments are beneficial to the overall treatment plan and the speed of progress.

Your practitioner's qualifications

Lymphatic drainage is a specialised technique which requires further training focusing solely on the lymphatic system. As with any area of study there are many levels of training and it is important your chosen therapist is suited to your requirements. I have completed advanced training in the United States with Dr Bruno Chikly and I completed my certification at the Foldi Clinic in Hinterzarten, Germany.
